My client is a global non-profit organisation and they are looking for a Messaging Systems Administrator to join their exciting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a smooth operation of all communication systems. Their main base is in the London. You will be technically guiding the project teams in the initiation, planning and implementation stages of their standard management of a project methodology. You will also be the main person that is responsible for email, telephone and mobile device management.
This position may include infrequent travel and sometimes you may need to work outside of hours, as you will need to be available on call for those unforeseen technical problems.
Being part of the IT department, you will be part of a team that provides all IT services to the International Head Offices. These will include platforms such as public facing websites and their internal intranet. User services include Windows desktop, email, finance and other systems. There are over 700 users and staggered over 12 offices internationally.
Reporting to: IT Operations Manager
Team: IT Programme Management Team, Chief Information Officer, Information Security & Networks Officer, Information Security & Service Desk Manager, Service Desk Analysts, System Administrators
Manage and lead the improvement, expansion, application and daily operations of our client’s communications systems including Office 365 based email, Skype for Business, Mitel VOIP telephony and mobile phones.
Monitoring systems, in order to verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, systems and key processes, server resources, review system and logs, and confirm completion of listed jobs i.e. backups
You will be in charge for security of communication systems, working alongside the Information Security & Networks Officer
Configuring connected systems with System Administrators such as Active Directory and Desktop build
Scheduling upgrades and maintenance of software and hardware
Responsible for continuity of business, Disaster Recovery and email backup
Management of 3rd line support, dealing with vendors and resolving major problems quickly and efficiently
Repairing and recovering hardware/software failures and then let the users who were impacted know via Service Desk.
Application of OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
Installation of new services when necessary
Maintenance, Development and Implementation of permissions structure to administer and operate Office 365
Carrying out periodic performance reporting
Provide training for team on Office 365 and other technologies.
Search and recommend new solutions in terms IT requirements requested by IT management and users
Non-stop enhancement of the consistency, performance and user experience of messaging services
Excellent/Strong experience of administering Office 365 or Microsoft Exchange
Experience with Mobile Device Management solutions. Desirable - Microsoft Intune and VOIP telephony (Mitel)
Identify, Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues fast and efficiently
Manage problems through Service Desk ticketing, configuration of management systems (MSCCM) and other system related tools
Deep knowledge of OS configuration and Windows Systems troubleshooting
Good understanding of DNS, DHCP, LDAPv3 and Active Directory (Directory Services), HTTPS, IMAP, SNMP, SMTP
Microsoft Server (2008/ 2012), Windows Active Directory, Windows 7/10 and Group Policy administration
Third Line support experience and vendor escalation
Willingness to keep technology skills and knowledge up to date
