My client is an international IT services company, which helps businesses excel by implementing emerging, current and ground-breaking technologies. They provide managed services solutions, which ultimately speeds up delivery of software and produces more reliable IT systems. You will be working under the Director of Solutions and will be carrying out duties that involve solid leadership and in-depth technology skills, whilst maintaining excellent customer service. You will have a team around to support you with the implementation and design of solutions. You will also be responsible for carrying out audits and reviews and working in an Agile environment.

It is a must that you have had experience of a lead role, which involved deep technical knowledge as well as having the passion and ability to proactively learn new technologies quite quickly. You should also be able to individually as a lot of the time, you will be working from home. The successful candidate will have a regional influence with regards to addressing the needs of their customers and how to grow the business regionally to other leaders in the company.

Travel

A maximum of 50%% of the job role will require travel to the office in the UK and others offices globally. You will be expected to meet the sales team directly in the UK on a weekly basis.

Objective

A real measure for success in this role is by ensure excellent customer satisfaction with the influence of your technical intelligence, especially if you’re bringing something new and has room for growth to the table. You will be making informed recommendations based on customer needs and have an integral part of showing how to implement new technologies through proofs of concepts.

Duties 

• Understand the needs of customers and execute a plan to implement with excellent customer service.
• To lead the application of technologies into businesses
• Deliver solutions for all customers that proficiently report their customers’ needs
• Working with others in refining solutions offered to customers
• Working alongside the sales team with regards to pre-sales and the whole account management process with a view on the technical side either at the office or remotely
• Contribute to the growth of the company, ensuring quality in customer service/consulting is maintained and improved
• Leading to the construction of solutions for businesses from commencement right through to and including implementation
• Deliver technology consultation remotely
• Involved in pre-sales calls as part of the technical angle and leader to outline actions
• Carry out infrastructure audits based on security, performance, scalability etc.  
• Conduct process audits
• Deliver performance optimisations and planning
• Involved in troubleshooting an array of systems to ensure stability issue resolution promptly
• Teaming up with the client development department to help engineer highly available infrastructure
• Endorsing best practices & developments to functioning procedures
• Communicating with customers and teams with regards to status and planning activities
• Liaise with other regional leaders, in order to carry out sales and delivery strategy
• Other duties that the Director of Solutions may ask of you

Skills/Experience  

• Good experience in systems design
• Knowledge with current and emerging Big Data technologies, which could include NoSQL, Hadoop and other offerings
• Knowledgeable on Data integration tools such as Amazon Elastic MapReduce (EMR), Apache Hive, Apache Pig, Apache Spark, MapReduce, Couchbase, Hadoop, and MongoDB (Big Bonus)
• Previous experience in a leadership role
• Strong programming experience
• Strong experience with Cloud, therefore knowledge with AWS, Azure, Google, Openstack would be ideal (Big Bonus)
• Previous technical leadership experience in projects
• Evidence working with technical teams with an in depth knowledge of complicated development systems and patterns
• Knowledge of DevOps workflows and used tools such as Docker, Vagrant and others
• Educated to degree level in an IT related course
