A leading software company in the heart of London are looking for a Computer Systems Administrator for their growing team. The client operate a 24/7 service and you will be required to support out of hours emergency support and routine maintenance as required. This is an excellent company to work for who are continually expanding, the work in an open plan busy office with an excellent atmosphere.
Responsibilities

Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, storage, etc. in accordance with HQ standards and project/operational requirements.

Install and configure systems, infrastructure and applications, e.g. MS Office, Phone system.

Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.

Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.

Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media

Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary

Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted parties.

Apply OS and Application patches and upgrades

Upgrade and configure system software that supports infrastructure applications and other applications per project or operational needs.
Skills required
-
Minimum of 3 years in a senior role designing and supporting Windows Systems.

In-depth understanding of highly resilient system architectures including hands-on experience designing load-balancing and clustered services.

Deep technical knowledge of IIS, DFS, Exchange and Active Directory.

Experience and understanding of common Internet Protocols including HTTP, HTTPS and SMTP.

In-depth understanding of DNS based and hardware load balancing technologies.

Good technical knowledge of current network hardware and standards including DELL servers and storage solutions SAN disk arrays.

Maintain data centre environmental and monitoring equipment.

University Degree in the field of Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Deploying and rolling out infrastructure on Docker or LXC.
